PDI Construction: A Division of Paramount Designs, Inc., is a 68 year old family-owned company with a deep history in utility construction and design services.
Founded in 1950 to provide engineering and design services to utilities, municipalities and commercial industries, PDI Construction has evolved into a full-service dry-utility construction contractor specializing in many types of excavation and underground construction.
Our specialties include trenching and excavation, directional boring, vacuum excavation, hydro excavation and private utility locating. PDI has extensive experience working directly with utility companies, telecommunications providers, general contractors, electrical contractors, municipalities, federal entities and departments of transportation.
The company was founded under the leadership of Charles Campbell, Jr. PDI Construction is now led by Ed Campbell (President/CEO), Charles Campbell, III (Vice President), and Troy Gronsky (Vice President).
Ed Campbell
President/CEO
Ed Campbell is the CEO and oversees the day-to-day operations of PDI. As a native of Phoenix, Arizona, Ed grew up in the family-owned business. His first job with PDI was working the “graveyard shift” as a drafter-in-training in 1990. Following that summer; Ed attended Northern Arizona University while continuing to work for PDI during summer and winter breaks. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Ed continued his career within the family business.
Over the past 25 plus years, Ed has held multiple positions for PDI Construction, including field laborer, CAD drafter, OSP Engineering Assistant, HR Manager and Business Development. As President and CEO, Ed oversees the day-to-day operations of the company.
Troy Gronsky
Executive Vice President / COO
As the Vice President of construction for over 25 years with PDI, Troy Gronsky is responsible for the management of all daily construction activities for Excavation, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Trenching, Fiber installation. He performs all on-site inspections, manages field operations personnel and oversees all scheduling and coordination of the superintendent teams. Troy is keenly aware of safety procedures and precautions and implements training programs on safety and step-by-step construction procedures.

Charles has over 50 years experience in project management and contract administration for engineering, design, and construction for Utilities and Municipalities. He provides innovative results in project management and construction management to achieve results through teamwork/partnering in the development of construction services.
